A few of us set out to hike up Fuego Volcano in Guatemala, carrying our camera gear the entire way to base camp — about a 5-hour climb. The hike was tough, with 5000ft of elevation gain, but nothing prepared us for what it felt like standing at the top watching eruptions light up the sky. We camped out overnight in about 32F - but it was so worth it!
Seeing lava glow, smoke rising into the distance, and insane panoramic views stretching for miles was easily one of the most epic experiences I’ve ever had. Totally worth every step.
