Hi everyone,
I'll be going to Vietnam in 2 weeks (eek!) for the first time which I'm excited about but not sure where to go and what to do. There's lots of conflicting info online so asking for advice. I have 2 weeks off but not sure I want to travel for the entire time so at the moment I'm thinking 7-10 days in Northern Vietnam. I love nature and I'm a huge foodie but don't like having a detailed plan when I travel. Having said that, I'm aware that December might require some planning because of Christmas holidays so there might be lots of tourists around/prices spiked but I could be wrong. I am thinking of doing the following:
Dec 16- 18 or 19: Hanoi (only) - explore main sights, eat, chill
Dec 18-21 or 19-22: Sapa (treks, nature, chill)
Dec 21 or 22 - ?: Ninh Binh 2D1N? Ha Long Bay cruise 2D1N? Come back home?
Option 2 would be to go to Da Nang/Hoi An or Saigon after I'm back from Sapa if I feel the need for a different kind of vibe. Lots of options and not sure what to do. Any thoughts or advice on this? Is Ninh Binh worth going to and spending 1-2 nights or is a day trip enough? How about Ha Long Bay? If you had no budget limitations and had 2 weeks off, where would you go in Vietnam and why? TIA!
