My girlfriend and I spent two weeks travelling around Austria in late September and early October. We’re from Switzerland and loved exploring our neighbouring country a bit more.
Our favourite part was the Salzkammergut with its lakes. Grundlsee was especially beautiful. We also really enjoyed the Wachau, walking through the vineyards and trying the local wine. Southern Styria was another highlight for the same reasons, plus some very good food.
The people we met were so welcoming and kind. That’s one of the things we’ll remember most about the trip.
