I've run into some snags in a current RTW trip. One of my goals of said trip is to accumulate FF miles and airline status. A viable way to fix this is a trip to Maputo. It's been a while since I've been to southern Africa and I wasn't aware of the situation in Mozambique. I'd planned to spend a few days in the area. I can't believe it, but I'm no longer in even advanced middle age. I'm American, female, white, low profile, carry-on only traveler. Any current advice would be welcome; places to see, stay, eat, etc. I could just do a turn-around but would prefer a visit. The older threads said avoid travel in the north, but some from 2025 mention troubles in Maputo. TIA.
