Tokyo in July 2026

Like many others, I stumbled across countless posts advising against visiting Japan in July due of the heat and humidity. While the weather was actually hot and muggy, I have seen that there were noticeably fewer tourists compared to the peak season.

With smaller crowds around, exploring popular places around such as neighbourhoods, temples, shopping streets, and restaurants felt much more relaxed. Queues were relatively shorter and it was easier to capture pics without large crowds, and navigating around the city was much more enjoyable than I had expected.

July to be honest, can still be a rewarding time to visit Tokyo.

A friendly suggestion: if you wish to ditch the daytime heat, then I'd suggest you all to explore the city during night time. It's worth a try
