Last year, I managed to fulfill my childhood dream of visiting Japan by spending 3 weeks in the country. Before the trip, I bought my first ever camera, a Fujifilm X-T30 II, and shot with it throughout the entire vacation. These are my 20 favourite photos. Every image was shot in RAW and edited later in Lightroom. Also, for those who are interested, the lens I used was an XC 35mm F2.0 that I bought while I was in Osaka.
Here's the rough itinerary I did for the trip:
I loved everything but if I had to drop one place it would be Hakone, it was cool but nothing special compared to the other places. The loop just comes with a lot of time waiting in line for the next transportation: wait in line for the bus, then for the boat, then for the cable car, etc... Yes the ryokan experience with the onsen was amazing and a must do, but you can have that experience in a lot of places in a Japan, Onsen towns are a dime a dozen. If it wasn't for Fuji-san showing itself at the end of the day I would have felt that the day would have been a bit of a waste.
All in all the trip was absolutely fenomenal and it blew every expectation I had completely out of the water. I loved it so much I'm already planning to comeback in 2027 to visit different places for an even longer period of time!
