I’m a 27F from the UK and have been looking into a solo travel trip around November time.
I have been looking at using a travel group like intrepid and G Adventures, as I had planned to go with friends but factors such as coordinating time off work etc didn’t work out and I’m itching to go away. I want to go with a group too to meet people and to build up my confidence to hopefully plan my own solo trips in the future.
I’m stuck on where to go and who to go with!
These are my factors so far:
Company: I don’t know which company to choose - mainly torn between GAdventures and Intrepid.
Travel theme: I’m unsure whether to do an 18-39 group or a ‘classic’ trip with a broader age range. I want to have fun but I don’t want to feel like the oldest. From reading forums It seems like the more obscure a destination 18-39, the closer groups tend to be to my age - is this right?
Location: I originally wanted to go to Cuba (I liked the beach vibe and length of trips) but I don’t know whether to go to places a bit more adventurous like Colombia and Costa Rica . A lot of people I know have holidayed/honeymooned in Cuba so not sure if I want to travel a bit more outside the box. (My main hesitations with Cuba is whether to book 18-39 or classic) I have been to Zimbabwe / Mozambique before and I’m interested in Madagascar, but the trips I have found are too long for me to book off work. I am more interested in Central / South America
Adventure level: I don’t want to be climbing mountains but I really want to explore, whilst still having chill time (on the beach with a book for example). I enjoy a drink and party too but I couldn’t hack every night
Length of trip: anywhere around 9-12 days
