Bosnia & Herzegovina completely surprised me.
I spent my first two nights in Sarajevo, wandering through Baščaršija, trying delicious ćevapi, and standing on the Latin Bridge where the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand helped trigger World War I. Watching the sunset from the Yellow Fortress overlooking the city was the perfect way to end the day.
The next morning I took the cable car up Trebević Mountain and walked along the abandoned Olympic bobsleigh track — a fascinating reminder of Sarajevo's unique history.
After that, I boarded the scenic train to Mostar, explored its beautiful old town, and visited the stunning Blagaj Tekke. Mostar feels completely different from Sarajevo, with a much more Mediterranean atmosphere.
My final highlights were the breathtaking Kravica Waterfalls and the historic village of Počitelj.
In just a few days, Bosnia & Herzegovina delivered incredible history, beautiful landscapes, friendly people, and great food. Definitely one of the most underrated countries I've visited. 🇧🇦❤️
Sarajevo was more for the head & heart.
Mostar was pure eyecandy and relaxation.
