Spent some time solo in Serbia (Belgrade) back in June and ended up having a super great trip. Serbia is the most bizarre, yet beautiful country I've been to! You definitely experience a clash if you are from the West.
• I stayed in Belgrade for five days. The churches are amongst the most incredible I've ever seen in my life. The coffee and books culture is incredibly strong. People are friendly, proud and serious. The evenings downtown are amazing and extremely crowded. The locals seem to enjoy the daily life a lot more than we do in the West. • Serbia is not too expensive! For the most part, you can stay on a relatively low budget, but still more expensive than most Eastern European countries. • Belgrade is incredibly safe. As a solo traveller I didn't feel unsafe once. • May/June is an incredible time to visit! Not too crowded and enjoyable weather.
Please let me know if you have ever been, and don't hesitate if you have any questions!
