So Salzburg is actually really interesting and tbh I think it undersells itself.
If you were to only believe the souvenir stores, the city is known for Mozart and...that's it. That's all there is. But the history is actually really interesting.
Not only is it breathtakingly beautiful, its also OLD. Like, old old. There's hermit caves from late antiquity. It has the one of the oldest monasteries and convents and cemeteries in western Europe. It has the oldest restaurant in the world. It was unique in the holy roman empire because it was run by one man with both secular and religious power.
Honestly I think Salzburg is worth a visit, even if you're not a big Mozart fan. The city is beautiful and fascinating enough on its own
