Hello all. I am Greek/Swiss living in Switzerland and I've never stepped outside of Europe before, so I thought Canada, and especially Francophone Canada might be a good step towards that. I have some questions I'd rather number to make answering to them simpler:
1) If you had one week to spend there, where would you recommend one to go? Montréal seems like a quintessential Canadian city whereas QC seems more picturesque, colonial French style.
2) Is it generally safe there? I know the continent of America has a rather unsavory reputation in Europe in regards to crime, but even statistics have a context and nuance behind it. ie. is it safe to walk at night?
3) Is having a car essential to getting by? Not just around the city/cities, but also between Montréal and QC. Here in Switzerland the public transport system is incredible and rather reliable.
4) Which of the two airports is better/more convenient?'
5) Any other tips or recommendations in general?
