I'm currently traveling through Europe right now. Germany, Italy, Croatia etc. it's 2am and I'm hungry..
I'm in a relatively large city but the only thing that's open is a gas station convenience store that likely has pretty sparse pickings (pastries, chips, soda). And it's a 17min walk away. Thought it'd be better than the US and its 711's.. nope.
One thing i missed about traveling through both East and Southeast asia was the convenience store "culture": Taiwan, Japan, Thailand, China, SKorea, Malaysia etc.
Could drop in basically any hour of the day, right downstairs, get everything from main dishes (that they heat up for you) to desserts, snacks, drinks and everything under the sun.
Sure i could have a regular schedule and wake up like a normal person during normal business hours but where's the fun in that. I guess it's one of those things i realized thru travel that I absolutely need in my life.
