I will be visiting London in September, and would like to stay my first two nights somewhere outside of London. I'm looking for an attractive walkable area so that I can spend a lot of time outdoors while I get over my jet lag. It needs to be easy access (train or taxi) from Heathrow after my ten hour overnight flight. I'm considering Windsor and Richmond (near the river). Any other ideas? Bonus points if you have hotel suggestions. I don't need a luxury hotel, but would like something quiet, well maintained, and close to restaurants etc. since I won't have a car. Thanks!
