Currently still in the middle of a very long journey and figured I’d share.
Flying from SFO to Vietnam on Cathay Pacific, originally transiting through Hong Kong. Mid-flight there was a medical emergency, which led to an emergency landing in Naha, Japan. Since then we’ve rerouted to Taipei, where we’re waiting now, before continuing on to Hong Kong and eventually Hanoi.
It’s been exhausting and pretty surreal, but I really hope the passenger who needed medical attention is okay.
Huge shoutout to the Cathay Pacific crew; they’ve been calm, professional, and kind through a very stressful and unpredictable situation. Truly appreciate how they’ve handled everything so far.
Back to waiting and hoping we’re on our way again soon.
