Is Sardinia a good choice for our honeymoon?

Hi everyone,

My husband and I are planning our honeymoon for the first two weeks of July. He very much wants to visit Sardinia, and I'm feeling a bit unsure. The beaches look absolutely stunning, I'm just wondering if we should choose somewhere a bit more urban.

I personally don't love driving a lot while on vacation - the added stress of navigating and parking can really detract from my experience. The vacations I've enjoyed the most have been to the French Riviera and Belgium - I love being able to walk and take trains, and all the little places you stumble upon while travelling on foot or by transit.

I'm also concerned about the ease of finding places to grab coffee, lunch, dinner, etc. Outside of the main cities like Cagliari and Alghero, the towns seem pretty sparse, and I'm wondering if that is the case? I will be nearly 5 months pregnant while we're away, and I worry a bit about not having many options for rehydrating or refuelling after beach visits.

We are currently looking at exploring the east coast of the island with stops around the Coast of Baunei, San Teodoro, Olbia, Santa Teresa Gallura, and Alghero.

Any insights about what to expect are greatly appreciated!
