If you’re thinking about renting from Indie Campers, run the other way as fast as you can.
I had a horrible horrible experience with Indie Campers. I booked, played and confirmed a van with them and even talked to their employees on the phone grad of time.
Then, without warning or explanation, Indie Campers cancelled my trip less than 24 hours in advance. Offered to just “push the trip back a couple days” when speaking on the phone. Zero understanding of how plans and accommodations work.
Their website still said the listing was available for that time and allows anyone to checkout regardless of their inventory.
I had to cancel my trip as a result of them as the dates for my trip couldn’t change and was out $500+ of other expenses.
They reached out after I left them a bad review on asking to help make me whole from other losses incurred. I sent receipts, and then they went completely silent and wouldn’t respond.
THEN, they didn’t refund all my money from the initial amount of the van rental. I’m now having to fight them to get all the money back in the first place.
The absolute definition of a scam. Will take your money for absolutely nothing. Stay away at all costs.
