A couple of years ago, I brought food(burgers I brought in the airport and spices from different countries) item through U.S. customs and forgot about it so I didn't say anything about it and when it was found and I got hit with an agriculture violation. I accepted the penalty and paid the fine in full immediately.
The problem is that ever since then, every single time I re-enter the U.S., my passport gets flagged, and I get pulled aside into secondary inspection for extra searches and this usually delays me about an hour. It's getting exhausting because the issue was resolved years ago and the fine is paid. It seems like a permanent alert is stuck to my profile.
I've tried sending emails and looking for a way to solve this and havn't found anything yet. Has anyone else dealt with this before? What is the best way to get this cleared from my record or remove the alert from their system? Any advice or steps on how to fix this with U.S. border control would be huge help.
