hi everyone! just wanted to share my experience, not necessarily against the city or the people itself.
although munich is made out to be one of the safest cities of germany, even for women, after spending a few days here i must admit i don’t find myself 100% agreeing.
for some context, i am a minor (female) and visited alongside my mother. i clearly look the part, you can tell how young i am.
regardless of me being clearly young and NOT being alone, the amount of catcalling i got was UNMATCHED to any other city i’ve ever visited. most of the time i was followed insistently, i often had to literally hide in stores, with them waiting outside for me to leave, all of this happening in broad daylight and not necessarily in sketchy zones (most of the time i was just a few meters away from marienplatz). it might just have been a situation of wrong people at the wrong time, but i just wanted to let out my frustration lol
