Hobart is one of Australia's best cities to visit, any time of the year. Known for its incredible food and wine scene and also amazing natural beauty, its small, quaint and a beautiful place for a short weekend away from the mainland.
I hired a car (best way to get around) and drove to the summit of Mount Kunanyi which in winter is usually covered in snow, and drove out to the historical town of Richmond. While it gets very cold in winter, it's my favourite time to visit as I think the landscapes just look so much better in the cold, especially if you get some beautiful clear days like I was lucky enough to get.
