Did an out-and-back 11.5 mile hike up Divide Camp trail to Killen Creek. About 1400 feet elevation gain. Excellent views of Mt Hood close up, and Mt Rainier (Tahoma) and Mt St Helens in the distance. I would highly recommend this hike; it's much less crowded than national park hikes (we saw 12 people all day) but every bit as impressive. The elevation is a steady gain rather than steep stairs or switchbacks. The road there has several miles of not great dirt roads, but we managed in a Toyota Corolla. It's a few hours drive from the Portland airport (PDX). No user fees but you do need to fill out a backwoods permit at the trail head, even for a day hike.
