I have an upcoming trip to Japan for 3 weeks with a friend. After my trip I wanted to do another smaller country or region for a week and a half solo, hopefully somewhere cheap and on the way back to my home country Australia. This week would be from 30th of January to latest the 10th of Febuary. Given these contraints I've chosen either Taiwan or Hong Kong-Macau as my potential options. I've traveled extensively tbrough mainland China and know some survival level Chinese. Does anyone know where I should travel and what to do in order to maximise my experience. Also I'm open to suggestions of other places to travel to instead.I just wanna make the most of the short time I have overseas. Also I'm cheap and largely unexperienced in travelling :P.
