I spent 10 days traveling through Bosnia and Herzegovina, and I was fascinated by just how diverse this country is. The landscapes are stunning, whit beautiful mountains, lakes, and emerald-green rivers carving through deep valleys.
I visited in spring, during the month of May, and the weather was perfect. The daytime temperatures hovered around 20–25°C (68–77°F), with plenty of sunshine. Tourism was noticeable but far from overwhelming, making it easy to travel at a relaxed pace without the summer crowds.
My goal was to see as much of the country as possible in those 10 days. I experienced a rich mix of natural and cultural highlights. Rugged mountains, serene lakes, rushing rivers, Oriental-style old towns with Ottoman architecture, Austro-Hungarian city quarters, medieval fortresses, and much more. From the waterfalls of Jajce and Una National Park to the historic streets of Sarajevo, and much more, every region offered something unique.
