Between war and war, there was this Lebanon, 2025

Taken at the end of summer 2025, during what was supposed to be a ceasefire, these photos capture moments from different parts of Lebanon.

From Beirut’s streets, to the coastline in Jounieh, the mountains of Mount Lebanon, and a restaurant in the Bekaa Valley at the end — just a glimpse of the landscapes and everyday scenes I experienced during that time.

In one of the photos, there’s an interesting contrast: a statue of former Prime Minister Rafic Hariri stands facing the Saint Georges Hotel, where a “Stop Solidere” sign is displayed. Solidere is the company that led much of Beirut’s post civil war reconstruction, closely associated with Hariri himself. The hotel, heavily damaged and left unrestored, became a symbol of opposition to that reconstruction approach. Seeing both in the same frame felt like a snapshot of different perspectives on the city’s history.
