Advice on anniversary trip to Breckenridge, CO

Hi all,

I'm planning a 4 day anniversary trip during mid-January for me and my wife to Breckenridge, CO as a cozy, romantic, snowy getaway. Our budget is a max of $2000. Things we definitely would like to do are-

Skiing, hot springs, gondola ride, horse sleigh, snowmobile, campfire, local markets

Here is the itinerary I'm planning:

Day 1: Arrive at Denver airport, rent an AWD SUV and drive to Breckenridge. For the first day just relax at a firepit, explore breckenridge main street and have a romantic walk.

Day 2: Ride the free Breckconnect gondola in the morning, followed by a horse-sleigh experience.

Day 3: Start off the morning with skiing at Ski Cooper. Then in the afternoon drive to vail village and explore the town, window shopping, brunch etc. Evening in Iron mountain hot springs, maybe stay overnight in glenwood springs.

Day 4: Return to denver airport, with some scenic stops at Eagle/Idaho springs/golden.

Queries:

- Should I re-shuffle some of the activities. Does everything look doable and drivable here?

- Would a normal rental AWD SUV suffice for mid-January in colorado? If not, what other options should I look at?

- Is Breckenridge the right place to make my base/book a hotel or should I consider alternate towns or Vail as per my budget?

- Am I missing out on any other fun activities?

Thanks for all your advice.
