I went in late September and the weather was really good, perhaps still a little hot at times. Maybe October would be better.
I stayed in hostels located in residential areas and took a mixture of public transport/tours where needed (for example to get to the desert).
For me, it was the safest country I’ve visited in North Africa (having been to Egypt a few months before and Morocco two years ago). I wasn’t catcalled or shouted at once. There were many times where it would have been easy to scam me, but no such thing ever happened and to the contrary everyone was really nice. If I looked lost for like a second someone would come and ask me where I wanted to go. I got a few things for free from shops and restaurant owners which was really surprising because in the UK (which has a much higher average salary) that would never happen. I would insist to pay and they would not let me!!!
I was very sad to leave, Tunisia has a great chill vibe and there is such a diverse range of things to see/do.
It was a bit draining to fit everything into one week but I wanted to see as much of the country as I could and I am glad I did!
