3 days in Budapest
Having already spent 10 days in Europe travelling within Germany and Austria, I wasn’t sure where to spend the rest of my days in Europe. Conveniently, Budapest was only a 6-hour bus journey from Salzburg, where I was staying at the time, and I decided to make a spontaneous trip.
Ended up being one of the best decisions I made, such a gorgeous city with a bustling nightlife and great people. Thoroughly enjoyed my time and hope to be back someday! Here are some of my favourite pictures from the trip, locations below in photo order:
- Hungarian parliament building at night, clicked while on a cruise along the Danube, one of the best boat tours I have ever been on
- The Church of Our Lady of Buda Castle
- Margaret Island on the Danube
- Liberty Bridge at dusk
- Buda Castle and Széchenyi Chain Bridge
- View from Gellért Hill
- Magnificent interior of New York Cafe
- Lángos, traditional Hungarian deep fried flatbread with sour cream and cheese
- Heroes Square
- Closeup of illuminated Hungarian parliament building
- Vajdahunyad Castle
- View of the city from the Citadel
