I spent 24 hours in Verona and it was my first time in Italy as well! The day started when we arrived around afternoon, went for dinner at a local restaurant called: Osteria il Ciottolo, which I highly recommend for the vibe and the food, I tried the Fettuccine with Duck meat sauce, (my first time trying duck meat and it was tasty, but a bit fatty for my taste), we spent 3 hours talking and chatting with our Italian friends who took us on a night-walk around the city, it was astonishing, the city is calm at night, not much crowded, probably because it was mid of the week so you don't expect much of a chaos at night. The pictures are from the area around the river.

Next day we had work in the morning but in the afternoon I went to explore the city on my own, starting with the Piazza delle Erbe which is the central plaza in the city with a big market, you need to learn bargaining skills as they have high prices on some items that look cheap. Then walked towards the Romeo & Juliet Balcony which I already saw at night, you'd expect a long line there for people taking picture and touching Juliet's statue 🤣

I bought some souvenirs from some random shops, so not magnets but Italian products, then walked back toward Arena di Verona which had a show that evening but couldn't attend because my flight was at night.

In every step you walk there you'd expect a piece of history in front of you, I'd recommend if you have more time to spend learning because this city is full of nice stories, the Italian people there were one of the nicest people I met on a trip.

I would definitely come back and spend more days there, I'd also then add Lake Garda in my plan, which was highly recommended by locals there.
