1 week in Puebla and Oaxaca

I spent one week in Mexico City and after an overwhelming amount of conversations with locals in bars, uber drivers, random quesadilla ladies, and strangers of all sorts recommending these two cities, I decided to leave Mexico City and embark on a 1 week trip to visit Puebla and Oaxaca de Juarez.

What a fantastic recommendation from the locals.

These two cities were complimentary but different. One grander, more serious and more european. The other more colourful, playful and indigenous. Both with different but complimentary food cultures. Both with extreemly lovely people. Both take their heritage very seriously.

Cruising down the highway in a crammed collectivo, surrounded by a dense forest of wild cacti and looming mountains, will be one of my core memories.
